It's easy for your Company to comply with the BSA 5 Rules

"It just doesn't make sense," Bill A (Full Name Withheld), "All you have to do is have any copy of any receipt with  your exact company name on it and you are good to go."

If it's so easy, why doesn't the BSA explain compliance better? Who knows, the real reason may be one of self preservation and the desire to grow the BSA 'Business Threat' organization.

If all employees follow these simple rules and your business can survive a BSA audit:

#1 Rule- Title All Purchases : Company Name Goes Here

#2 Rule - Get Top Authorization Prior to any Software Purchase/Install

#3 Rule - Place PDF copy of receipt on network drive that gets backed up nightly.

#4 Rule - Put a person in charge or an entire department to monitor all computers and audit periodically. A report sent to: network drive that gets backed up nightly.

#5 Rule - aka Employee Fine Rule: Violation of any above rule subject to employee paying any fine equal to the fine according to the BSA regulations. Fine may be payroll deducted or paid in installments by personal check. No fine  has to be incurred by BSA or other regulatory agency to enforce fine rule.
