In a test it conducted on 115 software products it purchased from eBay, it found the presence of a malicious code. The code “leaves the door open for security issues such as identity theft”. Source: Earthtimes
Also the BSA considers all software purchased from eBay to be illegal. If you are ever audited, they will try to collect a hefty fine.

How is this even legal, you should be allowed to resale software if you are no longer using it.

I agree as it would only seam fair that if you removed a program that you owned that you could sell or transfer it’s license to another party. However the software industry has no interest in "fair use" as their goals are motivated solely by their bottom line and any rambling about how they are trying to protect us from malicious code is nothing more than a diversion.
