Will desktops be gone in three years? One Google exec seems to think so and he says laptops will go too, making room for more use of smartphones. I, on the other hand, do not agree.

Full Sized Keyboards and displays will never be replaced. Besides, I hate typing on little devices.

Think back to the days of the cell phone, when it was the size a briefcase. Times are changing and I would not be shocked if desktops and key boards were replaced with small devices.

Where raw power is needed I don't foresee desktops ever disappearing.  In the world of graphics design, online gaming, and video production the need for a fast machine won't call for the technology to get smaller.  However I do believe that we will drastically see a reduction in use of the desktops during the years to come.  Laptops and even smaller devices are vary capable of accomplishing the tasks that many people primarily use their desktops for.

I hate typing on my phone and could not imagine writing a blog post or research paper on one.  I'll stick to the full-size for as long as they make them.

Yes, I agree you and I want to appreciate you for this question. World  has good mobility before the desktops our PC was so much big it used to take accommodation like a room and now chip is in fashion so desktop will be legacy device definitely.
