This call just came in from a customer using a projector rental for a presentation:

"My projector arrived but I may have a problem.. Neither the remote or the button on the projector will advance the slides on my laptop.  Can you tell me if there is a setting I need to adjust.  If not there may be something wrong with this projector."

Our techs are calling the user right now but with only the standard VGA cable on a laptop providing a video signal to a projector there is no means to control Power Point slides on a laptop. That's like hooking up an external monitor and asking it to control your web browsing.

If you want to control a Power Point slide show with a remote you want to look at a product called an Air Mouse. This is a wireless mouse that resembles a TV remote. It obviously connects to the laptop like any other wireless mouse but again its wireless feature and the ability to be used without a flat surface make it a great fit for this application.

Perhaps we should ad the Air mouse to our inventory. Sounds like a useful product.
