Scattered around organizations, on users’ local machines or on network files
shares, PSTs are a real problem for administrators. Seldom backed up, there
is no control over the content and, in the event of a legal action, there is
little or no chance of effective discovery of the data contained in these
PSTs.

I wonder how often PST files are targeted in P2P exploits of oversights? I mean if you could grab a PST file off of a few hundred systems worldwide I would imagine you would get quite the collection of credit card aand other personal data.

Andy - I would say VERY often, probably the most sought after data on a hard drive. That's why you don't use the share entire hard drive option in p2p programs.

I will take the PST that Outlook uses any day over the way Outlook Express stores files.   WTF

Outlook Express also seems much more likely to have corruption issues with the mail folders.

On a somehwat related corruption note. Almost anything can become corrpup. My iPhone photo album is now corrupt and unusuable. The only solution I can find is to resotre from backup or an OS reload. So it's not just Microsoft that can screw you over. LOL
