According to Network Computing, their Barracuda spam filter got a tag rate of 78% - that is 78% of all mail received is spam, which is largely the same figure as last year.

So Network Computing asked 16 vendors to submit their anti-spam software for testing on their Exchange Servers on Syracuse University Real-World Labs ®

Only 6 vendors answered the request - but Sunbelt iHateSpam died during the test and did not recover in time. That left 5 contestants, namely Cloudmark, Commtouch Software, MailFrontier, Red Earth Software and Symantec.

One Product won the show due to the elegant and efficient design of the filter.
