Study shows that with Obscene and offensive adult content (28%) leading the way there are still plenty more options for 1 in 5 employees to put their company at risk with their e-mail.

Alot of companies use an E-mail Message Archiver to keep track of digital communications including e-mail, voip, and in some cases instant messaging.  In many lawsuits and trials today instant messages and e-mails can be put under legal review and often times they will affect the outcome of the case.

Many laws require corporations and government agancies (including schools) to save all e-mails.

I know of one local School district that does not save their e-mail but simply expects the end users not to delete anything.
