Just thought this might be a good place to mention that Brian Wood did a video a few months back on Installing a Merit Lilin PTZ on a GeoVision DVR

This would depend on which model of PTZ Ip camera you were using to be quite honest, you would also require POE.

Power Over Ethernet (POE) can be great but the problem is that cameras that support POE, and the parts to make it happen, can easily cost more than running the wire. PLUS all those parts will some day die while the wire will last and last.

The PTZ has to have a power souce. If you don't have a outlet near the camera, and don't want to run a power wire, you can use a power over ethernet injector if your PTZ supports power over ethernet.
