Intel will release new Core 2 Quad Chip in January

   Intel will launch the third model of the 4 core processor this January.  This is part of the continuning effort to stay ahead of AMD.

Quad-core chips can handle complex tasks faster than single-core chips by using multithreaded software.  Thses chips will be most suitable for highly threaded programs such as entertainment, gaming and multimedia activities.

	Intel may be set to drive down the price of its Core 2 Quad Q6600 four-core processor in Q2 2007, reducing what it charges volume buyers for the chip by up to 37.7 per cent, industry moles have claimed.
