Yes, Microsoft has finally come out with a rental program for Office. Called OneCare, the service is subscription based and targets the missing customer base that would buy it but wont shell out $300-$600 for it.

I'm not sure this strategy will work since Google and others have free solutions.

If a company outsourced a former in-house position there were most likely other factors beyond the hourly wage involved in that decision.

However the lower wage does reflect a slowing economy and an excess supply of labor.
 
What I am saying is that with or without the outsourcing the pressure on your last employer to cut costs would still be there and the labor costs would be cut in one manner or another.

I am thinking about getting into the field of CCTV. I have heard that Ohio has some special restrictions for installation of these systems. I have been ask on a couple of job if this was a service that i provide. I have told them I did not provide this service but I am considering getting into it. Do you think we are pricing ourselves right out of a job? I ask this because the last company that i was employed by let me go to out source my position to a lower bidder. They are doing the work i did for about 4 dollars less than i was making. Also another thing coming to the Orange County Convention center is the Great Orlando Wheel which is being built next to the Orange County Convention Center.

The only thing worse that outsourcing going wrong is when in-sourcing (in-house staff) can't get things right, ever.

So often in-house are more interested in protecting their jobs, than getting the most cost effective and expedient solution.

Outsourcing brings in expertise and reduces project liability costs. When things go wrong, often the support company also shares in the burden.

This deal will go Thur but i don't think this will increase yahoo's share of the search market as much as some think. I don't know about you all but i don't like that it takes 2-3 seconds longer for yahoo's search page to load. They have so much crap that loads when you go to there website that it is just easier to go to google and type what you are looking for.
